Why are there underrated Bollywood movies?
There have been some great movies in Bollywood, which have been underrated. But there is no shortage of gems rated highly by critics at the same time. Apart from the usual commercial Bollywood flicks, there are many good art houses, action, drama, and comedy movies from Bollywood. There are many underrated Bollywood movies that I think deserve more recognition. Phantom, for example, tells the story of a young woman who is pursued by a wealthy and obsessive man who goes ahead with his plans to marry her while he’s engaged to someone else. Another film called Dasavathaaram stars three different actors, who represent ten critical deities in Hinduism and hit a dark tone when they start living together in a single house at a time when Tamil terrorists are kidnapping people.
Bollywood movies are not well-known outside of India, but they have a considerable following. Unfortunately, many films get overlooked because they are not advertised in the West. These three Bollywood movies will be loved by anyone who loves foreign films, has a sense of humor, or likes to see an underdog triumph. Sometimes we get so entrenched in the idea that movies from Hollywood are more popular than other movies. That is not always true. The last one was released in 2014 and is an action and drama thriller. All these films are underrated and are worth your time.
